We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a key position within the organization and an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is interested in developing toward a future Comptroller role.

Reporting to and working closely with the Comptroller, the Senior Accountant will support the overall financial health of the business and play an important role in financial reporting, accounting operations, controls, budgeting, and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Comptroller to support the overall financial health and performance of the company.
  • Administer accounting operations in accordance with corporate policies, accounting standards, and applicable legal requirements.
  • Manage general ledger and subledger reconciliations, asset accounting, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee the flow of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other accounting records.
  • Maintain accurate financial information and records within Sage ERP.
  • Prepare trial balances and support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Participate in internal and external financial audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Support the review, development, and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial systems.
  • Provide additional financial analysis and support to management as required.

Qualifications:

  • Business Degree required.
  • CPA certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Sage is an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
