We are currently assembling a team of qualified professionals for a major long-term water treatment operations opportunity that is expected to mobilize in late-summer/early-fall 2026, subject to final contract award. This project offers the potential for long-term employment stability, with work anticipated to continue for more than a decade.

This opportunity involves the operation and maintenance of a modern, world-class water treatment facility supporting one of Canada’s most important environmental remediation programs. The facility utilizes advanced treatment technologies and plays a critical role in protecting the surrounding environment through the safe and compliant treatment of mine-impacted water.

We are seeking qualified professionals interested in becoming part of a high-performing team responsible for the operation, maintenance, environmental compliance, safety, and management of this critical infrastructure.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Lead Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a modern industrial water treatment facility. Serving as the Operator of Record, this position provides technical leadership, operational oversight, process optimization, regulatory compliance support, and mentorship to plant operations personnel. The Lead Plant Operator works closely with management and maintenance personnel to ensure facility performance meets operational, environmental, and safety objectives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Operator of Record and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to plant operations personnel.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and optimize treatment processes and plant performance.
  • Review operational data, trends, and reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate process troubleshooting and corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate operational records, logbooks, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning.
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and development of operators.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to company and client requirements.
  • Lead by example for staff and direct reports by living Centurion values and applying them in day-to-day activities.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to direct reports.

Qualifications:

  • WPI Class II or III Certification required.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Experience operating industrial, municipal, mining, or environmental water treatment facilities.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentorship.
  • SCADA and computerized control system experience considered an asset.
