The Business Development Advisor role combines technical expertise with strategic business development, targeting new markets and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate has strong connections in the energy and mining sectors and a track record of success in business development of water treatment/management solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across the full water management cycle, including storage, treatment, pumping, discharge, and reuse - with a focus on the mining/critical minerals, industrial, and municipal sectors across Canada.
  • Build and maintain a queue of high-value clients through networking, research, and market analysis.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to meet or exceed revenue and market share goals. Work with Sales, Operations, and Senior Leadership to facilitate introductions to all customers.
  • Provide feedback to Operations and Senior Leadership on customer needs, market demands, and service improvement areas across the full water cycle.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior team members, including expertise with CRM tools (Monday.com).
  • Represent Centurion Canada at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Develop marketing materials, case studies, and white papers to support business development efforts.

Technical Expertise

  • Collaborate with Operations to deliver tailored water management solutions across the full cycle (treatment, pumping, storage, discharge, and reuse).
  • Stay current with water technologies, trends, and regulatory changes impacting industrial, mining, and municipal clients.
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and presentations to showcase Centurion’s water solutions.
  • Support sales of water-related systems and equipment, including retrofits and permitting compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within water management, industrial equipment, environmental services, or related sectors.
  • Strong network of client relationships in mining, industrial, or municipal water projects is highly preferred.
  • Ability to speak in a public setting and confidently deliver presentations on Centurion’s business lines.
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects and priorities, work under pressure and meet varied deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with a drive to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and Social Media (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, LinkedIn).
